|Pool Resurfacing | Lewisville, Plano & Carrollton - FAQ|
In addition to weekly pool maintenance, the heart and soul of our company is pool resurfacing. We know pool resurfacing inside and out and we like to share our knowledge with our customers when they need to resurface their pool.
Though there are many types of pool resurfacing materials, the three most common are Plaster, Quartz and Pebble. Plaster is by far the most common because it is less expensive. Quartz and Pebble pool surfaces came about in an effort to resolve some the performance issues that plaster is known for.
The Facts About Pebble Pool Surfaces
When people speak of pebble pool surfaces they are talking about a plaster surface that is mixed with a pebble aggregate, where the pebble material comprises a majority of the pool surface. The really great thing about pebble-plaster pool surfaces is that they are very stain resistant and you can add some very compelling color schemes to the mix. One of the drawbacks to most pebble surfaces is that they don’t feel as nice underfoot as a smooth plaster surface. You can expect to pay nearly twice as much for a high quality pebble surface.
A good pebble surface is going to last 15-20 years if well-maintained. Resurface a pool in Plano.
The Quartz Pool Surface
The second most expensive and long-lasting solution to your pool resurfacing needs is a Quartz Aggrete Plaster that is often just referred to as a Quartz pool surface. A quartz surface is going to last 15-20 years, which is longer than plaster. Some of the advantages of doing a quartz pool resurfacing is that you get a really hard, stain-resistant pool surface that can be spiced up with color. It is going to give you some extra years of use and it is going to look better than Plaster. Expect to pay 40-60% more to resurface your pool in Quartz than you would pay for just doing a simple plaster surface.
Plaster – Most Often Used for Pool Surface
Plaster is the carpet of the pool surfacing world. It is the most cost effective and it is the pool surface that most people are familiar with seeing in a pool. The big advantage to a Plaster surface is the cost. (and these days that is reason enough). Plaster is and will be for some time, the number one option for pool resurfacing.
